Going Away

Man I am getting tired of Japan, I am just tired of life in general. I know I need a vacation, and maybe I will take one soon.
I always kinda thought that if I do stay in Japan I wont be alone ... Brent my buddy Brent will be here and so will my other friend Matt. To tell the truth Matt and I are not very close but I have always found him to be a likable and easy going guy who will stand for something when he has to but mostly keeps his opinion to himself.
I was a little shocked when I saw Matt & his girlfriend Melisa Saturday night and they told us that they are moving to Canada.
So what did we do? Drink till the sun came up, followed by a quick dip in the Numazu bay.
Here is a great picture of of the 3 of them (Right to Left) Melisa Brent & Matt with MT. Fuji in the background.
A funny side note..... I never sleep on the train but needless to say after an all night bender I needed to crash for a minute. I closed my eyes at 735 when the train left Numazu for Gotemba. Only to open them again when I arrived a hour later..... back in Numazu!
Dads & Moms people like that.....

I am under the impression that every person goes through life doing what they think is right for them self and their friends and family. Some times what they think or believe conflicts with others but still that person does what they believe is right.
Parents I think are the same we all do what ever we can to insure that our children are successful and happy. It is not always easy, Heck I cant think of anything more difficult then being the person who is in charge of molding another person.
Even at 4 Eric has a pretty strong will to resist and to get what he wants. I like that and encourage it.... it will make him tougher in the long run. Just right now for me and his mother it can be pretty trying.
I always thought of my parents as 2 people who basically "did the best they could"... especially my father who's dad died when he was only 5. Believe me through all the wrecked cars , bicycles, toys, WINDOWS, fights at home and school and learning problems etc... they stuck it out with me and some how I got through it.... I am sure all the stress shaved some years off their lives...
It has come to my attention that some of my close child hood friends do not share the same opinion of their own parents. I think I had a pretty good understanding of my friends and their families. So I am a little unsure what to say to anyone who feels this way except listen to THIS.

Obon
Obon is the holiday where in Japan we welcome our dead relatives into the house and some other stuff that I stopped trying to figure out. Really it means we go to the grave yard and honor our dead ancestors. No problem there.
It also means we get a week off work. A week is a long time and we really didn't have much planed so mostly Eric and I went to the pool allot.
We had a really great BBQ and allot of Eric Satomi and my friends came. It was really great unfortunately no pics. Next time. But I want to give a big shout out to The Meat Guy The Meat Guy! for hooking me up at the last minute with some nice fat steaks and sausages. They were the real hit of the party!
Eric and I did some stuff day we went to my friend Brent's in-laws house.
First we went to the stream outside the yard and Eric, Ryoma and Brent caught crayfish. Eric loves that kinda stuff and Brent was looking at what he thought might be a potential dinner.
Been a while.....

Migration Migration is about my move from Fedora Core to Sun Solaris 10 and CentOS 4 for web/mail services.
Kodomo Sumo Kodomo Sumo is about Eric doing some sumo wrestling pretty funny with some pictures.
Hail Storm HailStorm A freak hail storm hit Gotemba a few weeks ago and Eric and I were right in the middle of it.
Obonn is another week long holiday where we celebrate the return of the dead spirits or something like that. I did not do to much celebrating but Eric and I ... and even Satomi did some fun stuff. Check it out.
