Really this is the first good one I have had in a while. This morning I woke up a little later than I had planned. Satomi was already up. I took a quick shower man was it cold and then got dressed quickly.
I went upstairs to the attic and got out the presents for Eric that we had bought I put them on the couch in our room where Eric was sleeping on the bed. I was quiet and careful not to wake him. Next I went down and got THE HUGE box of presents my mom dad and Sister Mary had sent. I put those on the couch as well then made allot of noise as I removed the box from room hoping Eric would wake up and see all the presents. No such luck. He was in a deep sleep.
Satomi came upstairs and we woke Eric up together.
He was kind of slow to realize it what was going on but when he actually saw all the presents he jumped out of the bed and rushed across to the couch.
He said "WOW ipaidat!" (There’s allot)
The rest of event took less than 10 minutes as he tore through the presents.
He would pick one up and ask if it was his, if it was he opened it right away. He got lots of great stuff like a remote control submarine, 2 sets of laser tag guns (one from Aunt Mary and one from the whole Hughes Family! Thanks Mom and Dad the extra set will be cool for team play!) Some Japanese learning games that he really seems to love.... and he is pretty good at. Clothes of course and some candy in his stocking with the perfect compliment to that..... A new Spiderman electric tooth brush.
Shinkansen X3

I ride Shinkansen (the Bullet Train) about once every 2 or 3 months. Ussually when I have a party or something else I would like to do in Tokyo near Shinagawa or Tokyo station and I still want to get back to see Eric.
Today I am coming back from Tokyo ridding it for the 3rd time in 2 days. Friday night I was about to leave when I noticed a critical looking problem I spoke to my boss and we scheduled a Emergency Maintenance starting at midnight. The maintenance went well or at least I thought so and I finished in just under the needed time. I was pretty happy. But like always I did not check my work so good and of course there were problems because of it. I ended up spending the rest of my night working out where I had made the mistake and hoping I could fix it.
Eventually I spoke to some one who pointed out where my mistake was
I corrected it and then finally at 10 am the next day I was finished.
I was at the data center and it is close to Tokyo station so I hopped on Shinkansen. I got home ate lunch did some shopping, and dropped Eric off at my friend Masseys house, and crashed hard for about 3 hours. I woke up went and picked up Eric. We got home about 9 or 930 ate a little and then watched tv till 11. When we went to bed we both fell asleep immediately.

1. Some of my brothers from the USMC are in big trouble for taking their rage out on a bunch of civilians in Iraq. Marines in Haditha I'm on the fence about this one. If you had ever been shot at for the sake of some else's POLICY you would be too.
2. In tech news I found a pretty good article on ZFS and why it is a good and not just for servers. (I use it!) ZFS!
3. In the good humor section my fellow TLUGer Bawdow sent me this CYBER FUN. You might want to not read this at work cause it is so dam funny you will be laughing out loud!
4. Did a maintenance to a server at work .... ERRRRR but why do you think I am writing this at 3 AM!
5. I finally figured out that dam sym link problems in VSFTPD... it took about 5 seconds of GOOGLE and 3 seconds to solve ..... wish I would have done that last week .... when I had time.

For about the 15th time in the past month I walked into the bathroom here at work and looked out the window.
As I relived myself and watched people come and go on the street below. I was greeted by a all to familiar tune. Some guy in one of the stalls using the Wash-letO to clean him self for some 5 MINUTES!
Give it a rest PLEASE that is what they make TP for...
I know after 2000 years of pissing and crapping in holes in the ground a built in ass washer must seem like a treat. But please lets not abuse it.
